Good morning people whose sins are forgiven by a wonderful loving Father.
Psalms 32:1-2 NIV Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord does not count against them and in whose spirit is no deceit.
Psalms 32:5 NIV Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.” And you forgave the guilt of my sin.
Oh how wonderful beyond measure it is to have a God who forgives and forgets sins that have been repented of! This is a foundation of our faith, but it is also an ongoing truth that we should live grateful for.
David uses some language here that I want to highlight. He said that God covered his sin when David did not cover his sin. Do you see it? When David brought his sin into the light by bringing it in repentance to God, God forgave him!
Honesty before God leads to our sins being forgiven and our guilt being removed! This is no small thing!
It’s important to note that David brought his sin before the Lord. Even when we sin against people, it is always against the Lord. Therefore, when we bring it to him in repentance, He is wonderfully able and wanting to forgive it and to remove it from us – as far as the east is from the west!
What a loving Father we have!
