Good morning people who take refuge and strength in the security of God.
Psalms 31:1-5 NIV In you, Lord, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame; deliver me in your righteousness. Turn your ear to me, come quickly to my rescue; be my rock of refuge, a strong fortress to save me. Since you are my rock and my fortress, for the sake of your name lead and guide me. Keep me free from the trap that is set for me, for you are my refuge. Into your hands I commit my spirit; deliver me, Lord, my faithful God.
These are days when a scripture like this is a good scripture to pray for ourselves.
This is a God-reliant scripture. It is a right-focused scripture. It is a kingdom-ordered scripture. It is an empowering scripture.
When we take refuge in God, we are not put to shame. Yes, the enemy can attack us and people can persecute us, but there is nothing more powerful than being hidden in Christ! He is our refuge and our strong fortress.
Once again, I see David rightly acknowledge, that what the Lord does for us, He does in His own righteousness and He does it for the sake of His name. This is not egotistical of God – it is right; this is how it should be. We find our origin, our life and our meaning IN GOD!
Therefore, when God works in us, He is glorified. This truth is a mystery to me beyond full comprehension. The fact that God and people can have relationship, and that people can live fully alive in God is too wonderful for words. We are blessed beyond measure!
Our God is faithful. This is one of the most impactful truths about God. He doesn’t change from one day to the next. He is not fickle or temperamental. He speaks and He acts.
Hebrews 13:8 NIV Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
