Good morning merciful people

Matthew 5:7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

Mercy is talking about compassion and extending grace. When we show mercy, we are not giving people what they necessarily deserve. When people do the wrong thing, it’s easy for us to think they deserve to pay, to suffer the consequences and to feel bad. Naturally speaking this is the default of man and the way of the world.

But it’s not the way of God and nor should it be our way.

Mercy is about passing on what we have freely received from God. That’s right. We have all received mercy; compassion, grace and forgiveness from our heavenly Father and He expects us to ‘pass it on’. ‘To whom much is given, much is required’
