#5576 – A Serving Position

Good morning people who do not miss the reason for the position that you hold.

During the night, the Lord spoke this statement to me: “Don’t create pinnacles of our positions.”

It was an interesting statement to hear, but this is what Father started to unpack with me.

He said, “Don’t believe the lie that says reaching a certain position in a church or organisation is the highest point of life. Knowing Me (God) is the greatest prize and the highest point.”

There is too much ladder-climbing in life, and this includes in the church. Too many see their present position as a stepping stone into something “greater”.

My question is this:

Who determines what is greater?

Here’s what Jesus said about Himself:

Matthew 20:28 NIV the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

Helping in children’s church is not a stepping stone into youth ministry. Helping in youth ministry is not a stepping stone into leading youth ministry. Being an associate pastor is not a stepping stone to being a senior pastor.

There are no stepping stones for servants of God, just divinely appointed positions of service.

And everything that we do is to be unto the Lord:

Colossians 3:23-24 NIV Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

May we serve like Jesus served.
