Good morning those God empowers to make a difference
Now I’m going to mention a couple of verses that have caused debate and questions for centuries.
Romans 8:29-30 For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of His Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those He predestined, He also called; those He called, He also justified; those He justified, He also glorified.
Now the point of contention is regarding God having chosen who will be saved already (predestination). This thought takes away man’s choice and says “What God has determined will happen anyway”. A result has been a lack of fervency because ‘it is out of our hands’.
God knows the beginning from the end; He is All-Knowing. He knows who will choose Him (foreknowledge) and this verse is saying ‘those people who God knows will choose Him’, He has predestined them to become like His Son. The predestination is not about salvation but about transformation for those who have chosen.
The Bible is clear, ‘it is God’s will that none should perish’ (2 Peter 3:9). The reality is many do because we have the power of choice.
Your prayers might just be the difference between someone receiving God’s gift of salvation or not. Don’t leave it up to ‘chance’; stand in the gap and pray for those you love. God’s gift is available to every person and no one is predestined not to receive it. God responds to prayer.
NB: If there are some of you who still believe God has made up His mind, then I encourage you to change God’s mind. Refer to God’s conversation with Moses about destroying the children of Israel (Exodus 32:9-14). Your prayers can make a difference.
