Good morning people who have been given the right to be adopted into God’s family.
John 1:9-13 NIV The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
The Light of the World came to the people whom He created, and yet many did not receive Him. Sadly, this reality is all too often repeated today.
But there is good news, and it is this good news that we must give our attention to. It’s this good news that we need to boldly proclaim as we testify about Jesus Christ, and here’s the good news:
To all who receive Jesus, to those who believe in His name, He gave the right to become children of God!
Oh, how glorious is the gospel!
In his first epistle, John reinforced this essential and joy-filled truth:
1 John 3:1 NIV See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
A child of God – this is your true identity.
