Good morning people who understand the power of what is spoken
John 1:1 NIV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Out of all the things that Jesus could have been called, John starts his gospel by speaking of Jesus as the Word.
He follows this introduction up with the following truth:
John 1:3 NIV Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
The Word created everything in the beginning.
Genesis 1:3 NIV And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.”
When the Bible refers to Jesus – the eternal Son of God – as the Word, it literally means something spoken. There is so much power in the what is said!
And as people who were created in the image of God, the same is true in our lives. Our words carry power!
Proverbs 18:21 NIV The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
It’s time to take more care with what we say.
And can I equally encourage you to not be silent when we need to creatively release something through our words.
Our words are powerful because we were created by and in the image of the Word.
