Good morning and happy New Year

I want God this year. Sure I have Him but I want to know Him more, lots more.

I am grateful for what God has done for me and I am thankful for how far He has brought me by His grace. But I’m not satisfied or content to stay in the same place all year. I want greater revelation of the awesomeness of God. I want a greater continual experience of intimacy. I want to know what God is really like and I want to simply get to know Him more.

I know that God desires this too. He is not far off and He is not hiding. He desires a greater level of intimacy than what I desire. He is there to be found. He is there to be revealed. He is there for me to know more.

Acts 17:27 God did this so that men would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us.

Hebrews 11:6 Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.

This year I commit to seeking Him and earnestly desiring Him. How about you? Notice the focus is not on seeking good things from Him or earnestly desiring Him to simply meet our needs. He promises these things to those who seek Him. He should be our focus; Who He is. May we all fall in love with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit in a deeper and more intimate way in 2010.
