Good morning people God delights in
Psalm 37:23-24 (The Amplified Bible) The steps of a (good) man are directed and established by the Lord when He delights in his way (and He busies Himself with his every step). Though he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down, for the Lord grasps his hand in support and upholds him.
When we give our lives to the Lord and we submit our will to His, the Bible says the Lord directs and establishes our steps and He delights in our ways.
I need a revelation of this more. You see it’s not talking about ‘perfect’ people but ‘good’ people. If you read verse 24, this is talking about people who still fall. That’s right, people who make mistakes and still stumble and fall. That’s me and that’s you.
But what does it say about us. Does it say that God tolerates us, focuses on changing us and gets tired of us? No it absolutely doesn’t.
God gets involved. He helps out showing us the way to go. He also promises to keep our feet firm on the journey and even pick us up when we stumble (which we all will). He then adds that incredible line ‘He delights in our ways’.
He looks past imperfection and has pure delight for us because we are His children; His loved ones. He delights in us; He gets pleasure from us. That’s right! God gets pleasure from being around us. Unfathomable I know but it’s true and we all need to have a greater revelation of this. Maybe we need to just accept it because it’s the truth. It’s not about whether we think He should; He does and that’s wonderful news.
