Good morning people who give God what God desires.
Today’s BIY is a very interesting one. I pray Father drops this deep into our hearts.
Leviticus 2:4-5 NIV If you bring a grain offering baked in an oven, it is to consist of the finest flour: either thick loaves made without yeast and with olive oil mixed in or thin loaves made without yeast and brushed with olive oil. If your grain offering is prepared on a griddle, it is to be made of the finest flour mixed with oil, and without yeast.
I find it intriguing that God was so specific with His people regarding the offerings that they brought to Him. It wasn’t about ‘any old thing’ being offered, and nor was it about ‘bring it however you want.’
So, what’s God saying to us today?
Here it is: The offering that God requires is the offering that God requires.
In other words, the purpose of us giving an offering to God is to please God. It’s not about us giving what we want. It’s about us giving what God wants, and God is specific on what He requires from us.
I truly believe this is a word for some of you reading this today.
Are you giving to God what is easy?
Are you giving to God the things that you don’t want anyway?
Do you know that God is asking you for a certain thing, at a certain time, and in a certain way, but rather than obedience, you are sacrificing a different offering in a hope that God is satisfied with your giving?
May our offerings to the Lord be what the Lord is requiring from us. Only this is truly pleasing to Him.
