Good morning people who follow the specifics of all that God has said.
Exodus 39:42-43 NIV The Israelites had done all the work just as the Lord had commanded Moses. Moses inspected the work and saw that they had done it just as the Lord had commanded. So Moses blessed them.
There is a blessing that is attached to full obedience to all that God has said.
Oh, how this needs to be reclaimed by many so-called followers of Jesus Christ.
Now, I don’t mean to be derogative. There are many earnest followers of Jesus. But I am highlighting the reality that some who have accepted Jesus do not in fact follow Jesus.
Discipleship is centred around having the heart posture and life pursuit of a pupil, a student, a learner. This is not about acquiring more information about something. This is about following a person – Jesus Himself – and following in such a way that we learn from Him, and as a result, our lives become more like His.
Jesus loved His Father in heaven. He gave evidence to this by completing all that He gave Him to do (see John 17:4). Jesus didn’t deviate from the plan, even though it was a wrestle that resulted in sweating drops of blood. He declared, “It is finished!”
This is the example for us to follow.
Ephesians 2:10 NIV For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Have you committed your life to doing all the work that Father has authored for you to do?
Have you committed your life to doing this work just as the Lord has commanded you to do?
With God, precision and completion are both important, and both come with a blessing from heaven!
