#5437 – Changed Countenance

Good morning people who take on the nature of God as you spend time with Him.

Exodus 34:29 NIV When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the Lord.

Our countenance should be different after spending time with the Lord.

Spending time with God marks us.

Spending time with God changes us.

I know that life is not always easy. In fact, life can be very challenging. None of us are immune to obstacles and difficulties.

I don’t want to diminish your challenges. Nor do I want to make anyone feel condemned if you are struggling to spend time with the Lord. This is not my desire, and it’s not God’s desire.

Today, I simply want to lovingly point us to the written words of truth during this time of encounter that Moses had with the Lord. I pray that it sparks something in all of us.

Moses spent extended time with the Lord. He removed all distractions. He stepped away from leading the children of Israel. He took time away from the relentless demands of being a leader of so many.

And he went up a mountain simply to be with the Lord. He didn’t take five minutes, an hour, a day or even a week. He lingered for forty days and forty nights. He remained. He abided. He stayed.

And he entered into the deeper realms of the Spirit.

He spoke to the Lord. He listened to the Lord. He communed with His Creator, His Lord and His friend.

Intimacy was the greatest priority of this extended time up the mountain of encounter.

I simply wonder if Father is inviting you and I into some extended time with Him.

These times will mark us and our countenance will be changed.
