Good morning people who never take for granted the very presence of God with us.
Exodus 33:15-16 NIV Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?”
I want to say something very clear today. My prayer is that it goes beyond our head. I pray that this leaps in your spirit today. Here it is:
The distinguishing mark of God’s people is God’s presence.
Our primary identification mark should not be how much scripture we know, how long we pray for, how often we share our faith, or even how many people we see healed.
All of these are wonderful, and I believe Father wants to increase all these things in all of our lives. I honestly do.
But the words Moses uttered to God still ring true for you and I today.
The world needs an encounter with believers who know what it is to walk with God. Unsaved people need to see Christians who know how to host the presence of God and who accurately represent Him.
It is not about how long we have been saved. Neither is it about which church we go to (although we do need to be part of a covenant family and be involved in a church where we can contribute through the spiritual gifts that Father has given to us for the common good).
But it is the evidence of “walking with God” that is the distinguishing mark that is needed in our lives.
Can people clearly see that you walk with God?
