Good morning people who lead from a place of being set apart for the glory of God.
Exodus 19:22 NIV Even the priests, who approach the Lord, must consecrate themselves, or the Lord will break out against them.
This is a powerful truth for every leader in the house of God.
There is no such thing as self-appointed leaders in the kingdom of God.
God appoints people. God sets people into positions. God gives gifts and divine callings. God empowers, anoints and works through those He has placed in positions of authority.
To desire to be used by God is a wonderful thing. Every believer should desire this. If you don’t, you need to.
But it is not about having a leadership position for our own benefit. To approach leadership from this place is to set ourselves up for a big fall. It is also going to damage and hurt many precious children of God, and it is going to damage God’s reputation in the world.
Godly leadership is always for the glory of God and for the equipping and empowering of others. And this is why our verse today is so important.
If we are not consecrated – set apart for the glory of God – then we will have the Lord Himself breaking out against us; opposing us. This is no small thing!
James 4:6 NIV But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”
It’s time for every leader to be holy, even as God is holy.
It’s time for every leader to consecrate themselves; to step away from the world’s values and culture, and to fully, completely and wholeheartedly embrace the values and culture of heaven.
To this we have been called.
