#541 – He Became

Good morning people who follow the Christ

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word with with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

This Christmas as we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ I am gripped with the reality of what actually happened. Let’s consider it together at this time.

Jesus was the Word. He has always existed. The Bible says in the beginning but that is not talking from a place of ‘having a start’. It is talking about ‘always having existed’. It is saying He existed first. I know our finite human minds cannot comprehend this and in fact it is impossible, but with our God, all things are impossible. Remember God is not subject to natural laws, He created the laws.

Now it’s this God, the Eternal God, who became flesh and dwelt among us. Please, please stop and think about this. The One who created became subject to the ones He created. The One who was Supreme in everything became totally dependent upon those He created. He became a baby; helpless, needy, dependent and reliant on. What an incredible step for God Himself to do.

Let’s give thanks for the HUGE sacrifice Jesus gave for our salvation.
