Good morning people who put nothing before the only true God.

1 Samuel 12:21 NIV “Do not turn away after useless idols. They can do you no good, nor can they rescue you, because they are useless.”

Idols are useless; completely and utterly useless.

They are good for nothing. They are powerless. They are false. They are fake. They are useless.

Yet too many times, we have them in our lives.

Sure, they are more subtle than a bronze statue, but they can be just as dangerous.

An idol is anything that grabs our attention more than God.

An idol is anything that we put our confidence in more than God.

An idol is anything that we gain more pleasure from than God.

This is a time to forsake all idols and to walk with the one true God.
