Good morning people God cares about
Matthew 5:4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Every person will go through difficult situations. Life is not easy. There are ups, but there are also downs. There are mountains, but there are also dark valleys. There are sunny days, but there are also violent storms and dark clouds.
This verse is clear; comfort is available and promised for those who mourn. Many of us greatly desire and need comfort yet few people actually find it. Why is that?
Comfort is available but we often look in the wrong place and with the wrong focus.
Firstly we need to look to God, not just man. Sure we are called to ‘carry each other’s burdens’ and for some of us that will definitely be a part of our healing and comforting process. We need each other.
But more than that we need God. The challenge is we often seek from people what God alone can give and has promised. This puts unnecessary burden on people because they can never give enough. It also leaves us disappointed because our comfort is limited. God alone is the Source; the Source of our life and the Source of comfort. He alone can give ‘peace that goes beyond our understanding’ but that peace can only be found as we ‘keep our eyes fixed on Him’.
Where is your focus today? Who is the Source of your comfort? I encourage you to turn to God and draw strength and comfort from Him. He loves you and He is wanting to be your Source.
Let’s look at a second essential tomorrow.
