Good morning blessed people of God

Jesus starts the ‘Sermon on the Mount’ with many examples of people who are blessed. Yet once you look at the list, they are mostly to do with people who are going through challenging and difficult situations. This can’t be right; I mean aren’t blessed people ones with ‘no problems’? I wonder if our definition of ‘blessed’ needs to be changed. Here’s what ‘The Amplified Bible’ says about the word ‘blessed’ as it is used in Matthew 5.

Blessed: happy, to be envied, and spiritually prosperous
