#529 – Preaching Kingdom

Good morning people of the Kingdom of God

Matthew 4:17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.”

Jesus is our model, our example in all things. When Jesus started to preach, I see two things clearly.

The first word we see here is ‘repent’. We live in a time that this vital word can be watered down or lost in the mix of a focus on love and grace. Do not misunderstand me, love and grace is central to the teachings of Christ and without them none of us can come into a relationship with Jesus Christ. But the truth about repentance must be preached clearly also. We should not come to Christ and be the same two years later. Repentance, a change of heart and life, a turning around and away from sin, should be a part of every Believer’s life. Jesus was upfront about repentance and our teaching and lives must be also.

The second thing Jesus focussed on was the ‘kingdom of heaven’. This is talking about the King’s Domain here on earth. This is talking about the authority of God coming to earth, just like it is in heaven. This is talking about spiritual authority and living by a different world system and philosophy; heaven’s system.

Believers it is time for us to understand that we are pilgrims, strangers and aliens in this world. This world is not our home; we are citizens of heaven. Yet God said, “I want YOU to bring my kingdom rule, my authority to bear on earth as it is done in heaven”.

This is a huge topic and one that we may look at further but for now I want to encourage you to ask God to reveal the truth about His Kingdom coming to earth through us. Today right where you are, you are the connection between heaven and earth.
