Good morning people who walk with God through difficult times.
Jeremiah 1:8 NIV Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord.
We want life to be easy. We want everyone to like us. We want to enjoy beautiful mountain top experiences in God.
This is understandable, but sometimes life is difficult, people are against us, and we find ourselves walking through dark valleys.
The context of this verse is Jeremiah speaking on behalf of God. You would think that this would always be a wonderful and pleasant experience.
Yet God tells Jeremiah to not be afraid and that He will rescue him.
While God’s promise is wonderful, we need to be real. You are only told to not be afraid when there is sufficient opportunity to be afraid. Equally, you only need to be rescued when you need to be rescued.
We live in days when it is becoming more obvious that there is an evident cost to following Christ, and even more so when we commit to being a voice who speaks God’s truth.
But it also comes with a promise of God being on our side. Sometimes this will result in being rescued on this side of the grave. Sometimes it will be on the other. We need to measure as God measures and in light of eternity.
So, here’s the important question today:
Have you committed to standing on and speaking out God’s truth regardless of what happens?
Those who have are those who please God.
