#5235 – Greater than Sickness

Good morning people who believe that Jesus suffered so that we can be healed.

Jesus’ death dealt with the issue of sin, but it also dealt with the issue of sickness.

God is greater than sickness.

The truth is, there is still sin and sickness in the world. But this is not because of an insufficiency in the sacrifice of Jesus. “It is finished” meant “It is finished!”

There is no sickness in heaven. I’m sure we all agree with this.

I’m also sure that we believe that Jesus healed everyone who came to Him and asked Him to heal them. He didn’t turn anyone away, nor did He say, “You will stay sick, but it will be for My Father’s glory.”

Being sick is not a sign that we are sinful. Some have falsely believed this and even preached it. I do not believe this, and Jesus even made this clear in the healing of a blind man.

John 9:1-3 NIV As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.”

Did you hear what Jesus said?

“Neither this man nor his parents sinned.” You can’t get it clearer than that.

But He also said that God’s work was going to be displayed through this man.

How?

Not by him remaining sick, but by him being healed! God is greater than sickness!

So, what do we do with sickness, and what do we do if we have been believing for a long time for healing?

Let’s lean into this further tomorrow.
