Good morning people who keep on pointing people to the goodness of God.
John 17:25-26 NIV “Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.”
As we finish our four-month walk through John 14-17, let’s consider the words of Jesus in these last two verses.
I love the respect with which Jesus refers to His Father; “Righteous Father”. I believe there is an example for us all to follow. God is worthy of our utmost respect.
And I love the words that Jesus speaks next. He declares that he has made the Father known to the world, and He will continue to make Him know to the world. This is what I want us to lean into for a moment.
You might have pointed people to Jesus and the Father, and maybe they haven’t responded yet. Don’t give up. Don’t shrink back. Don’t be disappointed.
Keep making Him known! Keep on speaking the truth in love! Keep on praying for them!
And His final words once again state His reason for praying this. Jesus wants the love of His Father for Him to be in every person, including everyone who is not yet saved. This is so beautiful.
God truly does love this world and every person in it. He created us all for relationship with Him; both now and forever more.
May we know God better, and may our lives empower others to know Him too.
