Good morning people who are privileged to know the Father and His Son Jesus.
John 16:25-28 NIV “Though I have been speaking figuratively, a time is coming when I will no longer use this kind of language but will tell you plainly about my Father. In that day you will ask in my name. I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf. No, the Father himself loves you because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God. I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.”
Jesus came from His Father and Jesus returned to His Father. This is where He now is; with His Father – with our Father!
And while He was here on earth, He frequently talked about His Father. The reality of us knowing God the Father is greater than we realise. Being saved by Jesus is deeply wonderful, but oh how Jesus wants us to be connected to His Father – to our Father!
The disciples asked Jesus questions when He was on earth. And now He is telling them that they will continue to pray in His name, but they will not need to go directly to Him.
Let me put it another way. Jesus effectively said, “When you have a question for your Father in heaven, you don’t need to ask Me to ask My Father. You can ask Him directly! Why? Because He loves you! Why? Because you have loved Me and have believed in Me!”
The truth in the paragraph I just wrote is worth reading again. Oh, the depth of our relationship with Jesus and with the Father!
Yes, it is absolutely true that there is no way to the Father except through His Son Jesus. This is talking about salvation. We can’t be saved any other way except through Jesus!
But we can talk to our Father directly! This is part of what Jesus accomplished through His death, buried and resurrection – direct access to His Father and His throne of grace!
May this truth come alive in your spirit.
