Good morning people who desire intimacy with God
Think about the following statement:
‘It’s not about theology; it’s about a relationship with God. The purpose of theology is only to point people to a relationship with Him. If our theology doesn’t point us to a relationship with God, our theology is pointless.’
I believe this to be true. When we are listening to a message, studying at Bible College, reading the Word ourselves or discussing scripture with friends, is the result a deeper desire to know God? As a flow-on from this primary desire, do we have a deepened desire to love people more?
The Bible is God’s Word and it’s purpose is to teach us about God and how to live. But why do we need to know how to live? Because if we don’t live as God intends, our relationship with Him and also with others is hindered. Living right is ultimately to do with relationship also.
It’s all about our relationship with God. To know God should be the greatest pursuit of our lives and desire in our heart. If we desire to know the Word of God more than to know God Himself, we miss the Word’s purpose.
May we desire to know Him more than anything else and may our relationship with Him go deeper than we ever imagined.
