Good morning people who meditate on God’s Word day and night.
John 16:1 NIV “All this I have told you so that you will not fall away.”
The greatest safeguard to falling away from truth is to stay securely in God’s Word. Not from a position of justifying our position, but rather, from the place of allowing God’s precious Word to shape our lives.
Jesus Himself lived by what He saw His Father doing and by what He heard His Father saying. This is such an incredible example to us as God’s children.
I also believe that it is a wonderful thing to go back to prophetic and rhema words that God has spoken personally to you. This might have been through a word of prophecy, a life-giving scripture that leapt in your heart, or a word that the Holy Spirit whispered directly to you.
There are many ways that God speaks, and it is good to receive them in the moment and to also revisit them regularly.
Here’s what Paul said to young Timothy:
1 Timothy 1:18-19 NIV Timothy, my son, I am giving you this command in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by recalling them you may fight the battle well, holding on to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck with regard to the faith.
Running well is wonderful and it is essential. But we are also called to finish well. God’s desire is that we are not shipwrecked in our faith.
It’s time for the people of God to know the Word of God and to remind themselves of all that God has said.
