#5121 – Seeing the Father

Good morning people who see the Father in Jesus.

John 14:7 NIVIf you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”

Jesus and His Father – our Father – are inseparable. More than that, in a true spiritual sense, we cannot even tell the difference between the two of them.

Naturally, this doesn’t make sense. Obviously there are differences. Obviously Jesus came to earth and lived as a man. The Father did not.

But there is a deeper truth that overshadows this very real truth. And this is in part the nature of God – He is beyond human articulation or natural-minded understanding. We must approach this – and all other truth – from a spiritual perspective.

Jesus wants us to know that if we have seen Him, we have seen the Father. In other words, Jesus is exactly like His Father. He’s not similar; He’s identical.

Have a look at these scriptures and let’s listen to the Holy Spirit as He deepens the revelation of this truth.

Hebrews 1:3 NIV The Son is the radiance of God’s (the Father’s) glory and the exact representation of his (the Father’s) being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.

Listen to the prophet Isaiah’s profound words as he prophetically spoke of Jesus:

Isaiah 9:6 NIV For to us a child is born, to us a son is given (Jesus), and the government will be on his shoulders. And he (Jesus) will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Now that’s deep! Jesus will be called everlasting Father.

If you are naturally confused by this today, that’s ok. Don’t stop at your natural understanding or lack of it. Go beyond that in the Holy Spirit and look to see what God is saying. He wants us to step further into this truth. He wants us to embrace the mystery.

Jesus and His Father are inseparable, and Jesus wants us to know His Father intimately.
