#5104 – As Father Loves

Good morning people who follow the example of our Father in heaven.

I said yesterday that with the Holy Spirit and through the Holy Spirit, we can love people as the Father loves people.

Now I want to make something clear.

Loving people does not mean agreeing with people or even giving into their demands to love them by accepting their current choices. This is not tolerance – it is compromise. The Father didn’t do this and nor should we.

Think about this with me. The Father didn’t love us while we were sinners by saying, “It’s OK. Grace. Grace. Grace. Your choice is your choice. It’s all good.” Not at all.

So, what did He do?

He sent His one and only Son to live a sinless life and die a criminal’s death so that we could be set free from the tyranny of sin and death! The Father loved us so much that He sacrificed His best. This was how our Father loved us, and this is our example for loving others, including those who will persecute us through their demands, and the consequences.

Here’s the words of Jesus to all who want to follow Him:

Matthew 16:24-25 NIV Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.”

May we be strengthened by the Holy Spirit in these days and know the heart and mind of God in every situation. May He give us the words to speak and the strength to stand strong in the faith. May it all be for the Father’s glory.
