Good morning people like John

Luke 7:28 I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.”

What a huge statement! Out of all the prophets none were greater than John the Baptist. Why?

Matthew 3:3 This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: “A voice of one calling in the desert, ’Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.’”

His calling was clear, He lived to point people to Jesus. He knew it wasn’t about him but it was all about Jesus.

I believe we are to be called to be like John too.

1. We live in a spiritual desert; a wasteland, a dry and thirsty place where people desperately need to drink living water.

2. We are to help prepare people to meet Jesus.

3. We do this by making the path to Him clear. In this desert world of difficult terrain, a straight and clear path to Christ must be shown.

May we live life as John did.
