Good morning people who commit to walking faithfully with your God.
1 Samuel 12:24-25 NIV “But be sure to fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you. Yet if you persist in doing evil, both you and your king will perish.”
Samuel exhorts God’s people with the holy instruction to fear the Lord and serve Him faithfully. The same exhortation is to be declared to the church today.
But I love how Samuel exhorts God’s people to do this: By considering what great things God has done for them!
Our reverence for God and our commitment to serve Him faithfully is best fueled by considering all the wonderful things that He has done for us and in us. A focus on God is always the best way for us to live.
Samuel follows this exhortation with a holy warning to God’s people. The same holy warning needs to be heard by the church today too.
Samuel declared with a holy warning that if they persist in doing evil, both them and their king will perish.
God is loving, and He is also holy. God is patient, and He is also just.
I declare by the Spirit of God that grace and truth still go together, and both are essential in the lives of God’s people.
