#5048 – Ascended Thinking

Good morning people who set your minds on things above where Christ is.

Jesus invites us to come to Him and receive rest from Him. He is in heaven, where He sits on a throne of grace, and this is where we find our rest.

The nature of the rest that Jesus desires to give us is not found in the removal of challenges here on the earth. In fact, it has nothing to do with what is happening here on earth. I know that this is difficult to hear, and it is made all the more difficult by the challenges that some of you are going through.

God sees them and God cares for you – He truly does.

And therefore He invites you to think about Him, to fix your eyes on Him, to think about whatever is true and noble and right and just and admirable.

He invites you to contemplate His beauty, His majesty, His faithfulness. He wants you to think about His goodness, His kindness, His gentleness and His patience.

Why?

Because it is in thinking about the Lord that true rest comes to our souls. Meditate on the bold part of our scripture below:

Matthew 11:28-30 NIV “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

True rest is found in knowing God’s big heart towards you.
