#5042 – God’s Love

Good morning people who are reawakened to the depth of God’s love.

John 3:16 NIV For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

This is possibly the most well-known scripture in the Bible. It is also possibly the most important and the most powerful.

The Father’s motivation for sending His Son was love. It was not frustration, impatience or anger – it was and still is, love.

The Father didn’t send Jesus to the best of humanity, but to the worst. Actually, it was for all humanity, but for the sake of over-riding our comparative thinking that often takes us to levels of good and bad, we need to refocus on God’s love for all. Every person needs a Saviour.

The Father’s love is accessed and entered into through His Son Jesus by those who believe in Him. Salvation is not the result of works – it can’t be, otherwise none of us would make the grade. Belief in and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour is the entry point into true freedom.

Salvation is not a natural or temporal improvement of life or a religion to give us hope for here and now. Salvation is about eternal life; eternity in the very presence of almighty God! Human comprehension is insufficient to fully articulate the wonder, beauty and majesty of eternal life with God!

And all of this is what we are invited into!

Thank you Father, thank you Jesus and thank you Holy Spirit for eternal life.
