Good morning people who fix your eyes on the Lord Jesus Christ.
Hebrews 12:2 NIV Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
I feel the Lord stirring me deeply on a profound truth here. I pray that you will open up your heart to receive the word of the Lord.
Fixing: ‘to turn away from something near, and to stare at something else.’
There is a double action required in fixing our eyes on Jesus.
Yes, it is absolutely necessary to stare at Him, to gaze upon Him, to fix our eyes on Him. Most people would accept this is what is needed.
But this is not where we primarily get derailed.
Our challenge is that we struggle to turn away from something near; from what is consuming our vision, our life and our thoughts.
The Lord showed me that some have been consumed by natural realities for far too long. Our time is mainly given to feeding on what produces fear, uncertainty and anxiety. We buy into the lie that we need to know what’s going on.
I would counter this with the absolute truth and I would say we need to know who God is and what He has declared!
What do you need to turn away from today in order to look intently at the Lord?
Will you take this step of faith and obedience?
