Good morning people who do not return to the slavery of the law.
Galatians 4:8-9 TPT Before we knew God as our Father, we were unwitting servants to the powers that be, which are nothing compared to God. But now that we truly know him and are intimately known by him, why would we for a moment consider turning back to those weak and feeble principles of religion, as though we were still subject to them?
Religion wasn’t enough to save us. Our best attempts to keep the law wasn’t enough to save us. Rituals and regulations weren’t enough to make us acceptable to God.
So the Father sent His son. Not to start another religion that somehow was a step above what had been. Not at all.
The Father sent His son to reconcile us back to the Father through the son. It was always about relationship, and it still is today.
So, we must be careful today to not step back under the law and under religion as if that is what makes us good.
Sure, people who are loved by God and who love God will seek to honour Him with how they live. This is what love does!
But obedience is the result of love, not the requirement of acceptance.
May we learn what it is to truly live in and from the love of the Father.
