#5006 – God of Righteousness

Good morning people whose righteousness comes from Jesus Christ.

Galatians 2:16 TPT We know that no one receives God’s perfect righteousness as a reward for keeping the law, but only by the faith of Jesus, the Messiah! His faithfulness has saved us, and we have received God’s perfect righteousness. Now we know that God accepts no one by the keeping of religious laws!

Galatians 2:21 TPT So that is why I don’t view God’s grace as something peripheral. For if keeping the law could release God’s righteousness to us, then Christ would have died for nothing.

Paul referred to righteousness in the only true use of the word – it is God’s righteousness, not ours.

We cannot be good enough by ourselves or in and of ourselves. Here’s a sobering scripture:

Isaiah 64:6 NIV All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away.

Our best is still like filthy rags outside of the grace of God. But thankfully we do not have to live outside of the grace of God!!

Receiving Christ means receiving God’s righteousness. It’s in Him that we become acceptable to the Father. Why? Because our life is now hidden in Christ, and all that He has done for us now defines us!

God’s grace empowers us to receive eternal life in Jesus, and it also empowers us to then live a holy and blameless life in God’s imparted righteousness to us.

Thank God for His grace and His righteousness.
