Good morning people who are so very grateful for the truth of God’s Word.
Colossians 4:18 NIV I, Paul, write this greeting in my own hand. Remember my chains. Grace be with you.
This is the last verse of the Book of Colossians, and I have loved my journey through it with you.
I also love how Paul ends this incredible letter to the church.
Throughout his letter, we have seen how Paul’s focus was on preaching the gospel and representing Christ well when he was in prison. He also had a major passion for encouraging the church, whatever they may be walking through.
And it’s only in this last verse that he says, “Oh, and remember my chains.”
I hear him saying, “It’s ok to pray that I get out of these chains, but don’t make it your main focus – it’s not mine.”
And then he finishes with his frequent prayer and focus for the church:
Grace be with you.
I want to finish this walk through Colossians today with the same prayer and focus:
Grace be with you.
May we all know the empowerment of the Holy Spirit as we give our lives to the One who gave His life for us.
Amen.
