Good morning people are part of God’s redemptive plan for the world.
Colossians 4:17 NIV Tell Archippus: “See to it that you complete the ministry you have received in the Lord.”
Such a simple statement, but I want to declare it over each of you today:
See to it that you complete the ministry you have received in the Lord.
Many of you are not “in the ministry.” You work a “secular” job and you don’t see yourself as the ministry type.
But here’s what the apostle Paul said to people in the Corinth:
2 Corinthians 5:17-20 NIV Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.
Your work is your assignment from God. Your work mates are your mission field. You are called to the ministry of reconciliation with God.
Reconciliation means to return to favour with. This is powerful!
This is what we are called to do through how we live our lives and the conversations that we have. Our focus is not to persuade or coerce, but to simply be a clear signpost to God.
So, let’s complete what God has called us to do.
