Good morning people who live every moment for the glory of God.
Colossians 3:17 NIV And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
This verse sums it all up again – Paul is very masterful at saying so much in very few words!
And whatever you do…
This doesn’t leave room for anything else; there are no exceptions.
But for those who try to find loopholes, or find themselves saying, “Yeah, but…”, Paul clarifies it further with ‘whether in word or deed’.
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed – in everything, in every situation, with every word, with every action, with every person – do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Now, this does not mean do whatever you want and add your own stamp of JESUS to it. This is most definitely not about achieving our purposes and our desires by misusing the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
This is what has caused damage in and through the church throughout history, and it must stop in Jesus’ name!
This is about doing everything from the place of God authoring what we say and do, and therefore, it all represents the Father’s heart accurately.
