#4891 – Faith in God

Good morning people whose faith is in who God is.

Colossians 2:5 NIV For though I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit and delight to see how disciplined you are and how firm your faith in Christ is.

Paul commended the church for how firm their faith in Christ was.

These are days of increased faith in God.

Faith in God is not dependent upon circumstances. In fact, faith in the outcome of circumstances is one of the greatest enemies to our faith in Christ alone.

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego’s statement of faith in God will always be one that is most profound to me. Listen to their words before being thrown into the fiery furnace:

Daniel 3:17-18 NIV “If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”

God can, God will, but even if He does not – now that’s faith in God!

When circumstances don’t turn out as you believed they would, are you still confident in and anchored to God’s goodness?

Faith pleases God because faith says, “God, I trust You.”
