Good morning people filled with the Holy Spirit
I had a moment of revelation the other day while I was preaching. I read a passage and it was like a light went on. This is what came to me from the following scripture.
Luke 4:1 Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the desert.
Many times we can focus on being filled with the Holy Spirit so that we can receive the blessings of God in a greater way. Our focus can be on the gift of speaking in tongues and the uplifting that this brings to our spirits. Is this a legitimate blessing that is available as a result of being filled with the Holy Spirit? Yes it is. Is it the primary purpose? No it’s not.
I believe the primary purpose of being filled with the Spirit is to be led by the Spirit. The primary recipient of being filled is therefore not us as much as it is those who we are called to serve in love. We are not the end focus of being filled; a lost and dying world is. The Holy Spirit is not meant to fill us and be contained within us. This will result in polluted water just like a pond where water flows in but not out. The Holy Spirit is meant to fill us and flow out from us; this will result in crystal clear waters that refresh and bless many.
Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and (then as a result) you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
Are you being filled daily with the Holy Spirit? Are you being led daily by the Holy Spirit?
