#4870 – Serve the Gospel

Good morning people who keep on track with the purpose of your life.

Colossians 1:22-23 NIV But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation— if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.

Paul became a servant of the gospel. This is an interesting and revealing statement.

Much of leadership today can be about getting a job done, completing a task, or leading people towards a vision. These are not bad, but they are not the most important part of what true leadership in the kingdom is about.

We are called to give our lives for the King and His kingdom. We are called to serve the redemptive purpose of God, and all of this is summed up in the gospel.

The word gospel means ‘a good message’ or ‘to announce good news.’ This is the news of the rule and reign of God, on earth as in heaven. This is about Lordship and God’s authority. This is a gospel of love and a gospel of victory.

The world today needs men and women of God who have given their lives to serve and share the gospel. This ‘good news’ is essential news, but it must always be a passing on of what God is saying in the moment. He is the author of the gospel and we are His mouthpiece on the earth.
