#4857 – Redemption & Forgiveness

Good morning people who live in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Colossians 1:13-14 NIV For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

In this scripture, I am drawn to two words that most believers need a deeper revelation of the power of the truth: redemption and forgiveness.

When we receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour – when we confess our sins, acknowledge Jesus as Lord, and we lay everything down and die to self – something too wonderful for words literally takes place.

In that moment, redemption and forgiveness happens.

Redemption means ‘ransom in full’, and forgiveness of sins means ‘release from bondage or imprisonment’.

In other words, the price demanded by our sin has been paid in full, and therefore, we are free to go and live free!

May the power of this truth release hope and life in you today in Jesus’ name.
