#4852 – Knowledge of God

Good morning people who earnestly desire to know the truth about God.

Colossians 1:10-12 NIV So that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.

The second way that Paul tells us that we live a life worthy of the Lord and please him, is by growing in the knowledge of God.

Everything we do flows from our view of God – everything. Therefore, it is so important and completely imperative that our view of God is accurate.

One of the evils of the days that we live in is that many are redefining who God is. Their own desires are forcing people to fashion God into an image who accepts their own wilful decisions and lifestyles. While this may appease their own consequence, it greatly displeases and grieves the Lord.

God does not change. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. And the Bible makes it clear what He is like.

Therefore, it is not God who needs to change, but it is us. We need revelation of the truth of who He is, and this comes to the truly hungry in heart.

As we see God as He is, we bring Him pleasure and delight.
