#4842 – Thankful Prayers

Good morning people who thank God whenever you pray.

Colossians 1:3 NIV We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you.

What is possible if we started every time of prayer with giving thanks to God?

Think about this.

How much of our prayer life is complaining and how much is thanksgiving?

How much of our prayer life is requesting and how much is thanksgiving?

There is absolutely a place for requesting from God what we need. We are repeatedly invited to bring our requests to God, and we most definitely should.

But we are equally instructed to do so from the place of giving thanks to God.

This is not semantics. This is bible. And because it’s bible, it is correct.

Even in challenging times, there is something powerful when we approach God in prayer from the starting point of thanking Him for who He is and all He has done.

Thanksgiving in difficulty declares, “God, You are greater and I honour You above everything.”

Prayers like this shift something in the realm of the spirit.

Prayers like this release heaven on earth.
