#4838 – Guard Your Feet

Good morning people who go to places that please the Lord.

Proverbs 4:26-27 NIV Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.

The truth is that the path that we physically take is the last thing mentioned in these scriptures we have looked at over the last few days.

Why?

Because it never starts there.

The comment “It just happened” is not true. An action is preceded by what we turn our ear to and what we give our attention to. This determines what is in our heart, and as already mentioned, everything flows from that.

So, what is the Lord saying?

Our life is a complete whole. There are not isolated sections or different parts of us; we are who we are. However, there is divinely established order and flow; it is always about sowing and reaping.

We need to guard our heart, guard our ears, guard our eyes, guard our mouth, guard our feet, and as a result, guard our life. This is not to cause trepidation or second-guessing every step. Too many of us have done that for too long, and it doesn’t work.

The way forward is to focus on God; who He is and what He has done. It’s to saturate ourselves, meditate deeply and give our attention to what is found in this empowering verse:

Philippians 4:8 NIV Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

May God lead us all forward in His rhythm and in His ways.
