Good morning children with a great God
He who dwells…remains, settles, stays permanently established, abides
In the shelter…our place of hiding and protection; a place of security
Psalm 91:1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
Our abiding is not in human relationships that, like us, are limited in their ability to satisfy fully. Our shelter is not in an organisation, a church or any other one of numerous ‘things’ that we try to find security and safety in.
The Most High…He alone is the One in whom we should abide. He alone is the One who can give us the shelter that we need. The Most High means ‘supreme’. Our great God is not one among many. He is not higher than some but not as high as others. He is not just high. He is not just higher. He is the Most High; the Supreme. Nothing has ever or will ever be higher and greater and more powerful than our God. Nothing can compare! He is the Most High Name. He is above all. This is the God who loves us, gave Himself for us and welcomes us into a relationship with Him. He is the One who is watching over us and protecting us like a mother hen the chicks that she loves (Psalm 139:5). He is the One that says “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty”.
Thank You God for being Supreme.
