Good morning people who pay attention to what you are building your life upon.

The Lord has been speaking to me about the importance of strong foundations in our lives. The truth is, every building needs strong foundations.

As I lean in deeply, I feel the Lord use the picture of a renovation to speak to me for myself, for you, and for the body of Christ. I pray you are blessed and empowered as I share some thoughts about this over the next few days.

Here’s the bottom line first: 

If the foundation of a house is not solid, the house will sink.

Think about the parable of the wise man who built his house on the foundation of an immovable rock, and the foolish man who built his house on the foundation of shifting sand. One house stood and the other house sank. So it is true in our lives. 

The determining factor in a house renovation are the foundations. If the foundations are not solid, all renovations are pointless. 

This is a confronting statement, but it is the truth. We can spend lots of time building frames, putting up walls, painting and decorating, but if the foundations are faulty, the rest is wasted. Foundations matter.
