Our goal should not be to fight battles against people with different opinions.

Yes, we must be lovers of the truth, and we must also be willing to suffer for righteousness’ sake. But that doesn’t mean that we live cantankerous and aggressive.

Think about natural parents. One of the things that brings joy to their heart is when their children get along well with each other.

In times of conflict, something leaps in parents’ hearts when one child is a peacemaker in a potentially volatile situation.

It’s not about compromise, but rather, it is evidence of those who love peace.

Yes, there can be an abuse of this or even a fearful motivation of avoiding healthy conflict. But let’s not allow the negative to distort the truth, and as a result, end up with an incorrect theology that keeps us from being peacemakers.

Children of God are peacemakers.
