Good morning eternally minded people
Philippians 1:21-24 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labour for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body.
For a person who knows Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour, death has no power to cause fear. Paul says to die is gain. Death promotes us to an eternity in God’s Presence free from pain, disease, worry, burden and sin. We cannot start to imagine the beauty of heaven. Heaven is always a promotion. Paul’s words were not empty words but a truth that he had revelation on. Being with Christ is better by far. Oh what a glorious day for every Christian when we are eternally in God’s presence on the other side of the grave.
Am I saying that death is emotionally easy? No I am not. It is always difficult when someone we love passes away. Leading up to that time can be difficult on the person to whom eternity is beckoning but once they have moved on to the other side of the grave, they will know joy that they have never known before!
Death is difficult only for those of us left behind and for those who have not accepted Jesus as their personal Saviour. If you have lost a loved one, I pray your Father God will strengthen you and bring peace to your hearts. And for all of us, I hope that we will pray for those who do not yet know Christ and that we will be a true reflection of Him in order to see as many as possible saved and set free.
May heaven be all of our homes one day.
