Good morning people who live for God

Philippians 1:21-22a For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labour for me.

Our purpose is to live for God. It’s not to live selfishly, fulfilling our own needs and desires. This is so easy to do. It’s easy to get caught up in what makes us happy and feels good. It’s easy to live life without a lot of intentional thought to God’s plan and purpose for our lives. But this is not life as God intended it.

The reason we have breath is because God has a plan and a purpose and it always includes fruitful labour. Fruitful labour involves us diligently doing what God has called us to do. This is the labour part. God is the One who takes our labour and produces the fruit. I am so glad that we do not labour alone with a vain hope that it will make a difference. God will breathe upon our labour when we are doing what He has asked and there will always be fruit as a result.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
