#4715 – Following Jesus

Good morning people who follow the leading of the Holy Spirit

Many people believe in Jesus, but they have not accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. The devil and his demons believe in Jesus, but they are by no means saved! Believing in Jesus is not enough to save us.

Many people have accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour, but they are not following Jesus and submitting fully to His Lordship. Yes, they are saved, but the initial call still remains: to follow Jesus.

When Jesus walked the earth, following Jesus meant physically being with Him, learning from Him, being refined and changed by Him. Following Jesus meant leaving all and giving all. Following Jesus meant living by faith and dying in faith. Following Jesus was living a life of surrender and living “all in” under His Lordship; His authority.

Today, following Jesus means following the leading of the Holy Spirit. Jesus is sitting at the right hand of the Father in heaven (Ephesians 1:20). Before He ascended, He promised to send the Holy Spirit who would lead us into all truth. I want to emphasise the words lead us.

Galatians 5:25 NIV Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

For some of you who believe in Jesus, it’s time to accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour.

For us all, it’s time to more deeply and wholeheartedly follow Jesus by following the leading of the Holy Spirit. This is what honours the Father.
